Hi Victoria....thank you for your comment and offer. I am still riding just a Trek 7.3FX (cross/hybrid bike) and only average around 17.5mph on my usual 11 mile loop from Snell Isle through downtown St. Pete to 22nd Ave S via 3rd St and then back to Snell Isle. This I can do riding from my front door. I would like to do longer rides, but I find myself never getting around to putting my bike in the car and taking it somewhere. I really like to just ride door to door.

I have only ever ridden with other cyclists on what we called "cyclo-camping" trips, basically touring but only one day riding to destination length trips.

I would be interested in seeing what local rides you have on your maps though.

Hi Jason: I WAS a cyclist for many, many years when I lived in Atlanta. When i moved here in 2003 (St Pete), I rode with the St Pete Bike Club for a year. Eventually I got frustrated and quit. Ever since I have been trying to find "pure" cyclists in St Pete, but I have not been successful. It is a good town for triathletes! Anyway, if you want to do training rides & around 200 miles a week, i am interested !! I have collected several local ride maps. Victoria
