PREDATORS [2010] review

This will be my first movie review really tainted by low class people in the movie theater. I have to get this out of the way first. Some fool(s) brought their 3 year old daughter into the theater and let her run around! Someone went to complain to management and she became only a minor distraction after that instead of a major one. Then the person sitting two seats to my left was using his cell phone (bright screen) the entire first third of the movie. I could not take it anymore and channeled Costanza and told him if he needs to do that, take it outside the theater! That stopped him completely. Needless to say, the movie going experience was ruined for me and I sat there disgusted the rest of the time. PREDATORS I think was a pretty good movie, and I know I liked Adrien Brody’s badass mercenary character a lot.
Still, I just cannot get over people in society. No matter the noise the child was making, PREDATORS is a rated R movie and exposing her to such content is just negligent parenting in the first place. Saw other very young children in the audience too. Anyway . . .
I could never really get into the flow of the movie haven been taken out of it the first third, but I really like the way each character was introduced and the very gradual way it was revealed to the characters they were in fact far from earth on an alien planet.
Predator lore for the casual fan (such as myself) was nicely expanded. The action sequences were good without being CGI over the top. There could have been some more suspense in them to build the fear of the Predators more, but maybe there was and I just could not notice in due to environmental distraction.
The ending I did find to be somewhat unsatisfactory. I almost felt some pity for one Predator (not the obvious one, the other one). Still, if they make a sequel, I am sure I will go see it, but probably at a weekday matinee with an empty theater.
