Tour de la Pink 2008!
About 30 cyclists from the Tokyo
Cycling Club met at Nakano station at 10am in the
morning and begin an all-day ride. We first rode
down a street under a canopy of cherry blossoms, a
truly beautiful scene.
We next visited Koishikawa Korakuen park and from
there went to the Imperial Palace and then Yasokuni
Shrine.
Arakawa to Seaside Park Ride!
I finally, finally found an easy
route to the Arakawa River! I rode it south to
Tokyo Bay to the same area I rode to last week.
This time I went to SeaSide Park which was quite
crowded with picnic-ers and even a marching
band!

I rode my bike far out over reclaimed land in Tokyo Bay in search of new destinations in the Odaiba area. A few miles east of Odaiba, I found a bayfront park with a huge bike loop and sweeping views of Tokyo Bay. There was even a very nice grassy slope to sit on in the warm afternoon sun.
Ride to Odaiba with the Xacti HD700!
Odaiba views by bicycle from Jason Collin on Vimeo.
I rode my bike (Trek 7.3 FX) from
Shinjuku to Odaiba this afternoon. This was my
second time to ride there recently, but first
with my Xacti HD700. I used a gorillapod tripod
to mount the HD700 on my handlebars and
experimented with recording video while riding.
The results? I need to find smoother paths and work
on the Xacti's settings.
This video was exported only at "iPod" quality as the
time to render it in 720p in iMovie '06 on my 1.67ghz
Powerbook G4 kept going up and up. Finally, at 155
minutes and rising, I canceled it.
