It has 7.3 on imdb which is pretty good. I liked Rourke and Hammer both. I don`t know what you expect by way of plot- it`s a superhero story. I was impressed that they had some back story left to mine; with the expo and his dad`s plans. One of my favorite sequences is when he designs the new element.
I guess we can just chalk this up as another of those movies that we have wildly different (and unexplainable) differences on. I still can`t fathom how you could watch the Lord of the Rings movies 9 times, when I could hardly stomach the last 2 even once.

I had extraordinarily low expectations as every review I heard of the movie was that it was junk. I only watched it because I felt like a big summer movie type movie and kind of for completion since I saw the first one. I hoped it somehow would not be as bad as it was made out to be, but it was.

I cannot fathom watching the movie that many times. I actually felt embarrassed watching it during the drunk Iron Man scene. I thought that whole scene was cringe-worthy.

You can see my specific criticisms in my full review above. There were only like 3 action scenes, one of which was spoiled in the trailer. The final battle was a joke and over in 5 seconds.

And again, the most significant problem is that for a comic book/superhero movie to be successful, the villain has to be outstanding. Mickey Rourke mumbled through the movie, and the Hammer CEO was a fool and a buffoon.

I`m surprised you disliked this movie so much- I loved it. In fact I`ve re-watched it 3 or 4 times since I saw it at the cinema, we put it on while we`re watching dinner. It`s funny, fast-paced, and has more than enough action scenes. I`m looking forward to more Jon Favreau directed movies, as he clearly understands what a big movie like this needs- also got to love that he inserts himself into it only as the comic effect- very cool.

Can`t imagine why something I think is so fun would be such a let-down for you. Perhaps you expected something much more serious, like Batman?
